In this animated video a simple scenario takes the learner through structured, logical steps, supported by a clear animation and voiceover, to explain how a flowchart is used to analyse, plan and guide the logical process that underpins the design and writing of a computer program. In this way the learner can understand the steps that are required.
This video was the first of a series developed for a free online iTunes U course: Basics of Computer Programming, with Raspberry Pi. The video (and the rest of the series) is also available as a stand-alone resource in an iTunes U collection, entitled Basics of Computer Programming.
Standard deviation is a difficult concept in quantative analysis that many students struggle to understand. In this video a simple scenario takes the learner through structured, logical steps, supported by a clear animation and voiceover, to explain how dispersion of data is measured. In this way the learner can more easily grasp this theoretical approach.
This unique and original animation was first developed to support the Quantitative Analysis chapter of the ‘Research Methods’ interactive book. The original was in English, but the submitted video was rebuilt with Welsh content and a new voiceover for the book in translation, Dulliau Ymchwil. This is the first such academic resource on the subject to be made available in Welsh. The ‘Gwasgariad a gwyriad safonol’ video (and the rest of the animations) is also available as a stand-alone resource in an iTunes U collection, entitled Research Methods / Dulliau Ymchwil.
The interactive book and the iTunes U collection which include this video are used as a core resources for all Welsh-medium degree schemes in the School of Business at the University of South Wales. (The English version is also used extensively in the USW School of Business and is a named resource for business students at other universities.)
